Emissions Trading = Extra Tax

Australians are about to be duped into accepting a new tax dressed up as an Emissions Trading Scheme.  If you accept the new mantra from the clever-dicks in the Rudd Government you will be welcomed into the new church of enviro-evangelism.  You will be able to sleep soundly in the belief that the sky will forever be blue, the clouds soft and cuddly, the grass lush and green, the air pure and the water pristine.

Unemployment – More Spin, Smoke and Mirrors

It is difficult to cut through the chaff in trying to work out whether the economy is experiencing a ‘technical’ recession or a ‘real’ recession. It is just as difficult to determine whether unemployment is decreasing, increasing or stabilising. Whilst the latest data indicates a rise in the number of jobs further inspection reveals that most of these are in fact part-time jobs. (more…)

The world changed forever on September 11, 2001, when Al-Qaeda terrorists hijacked civilian airliners and flew them into the twin towers of the World Trade Centre in New York.  This was a pivotal event in history because it affects the way we live, the way we relax and the way we do business in our global village.  It triggered a global war without boundaries and without regard for the lives of innocent civilians. Hospitalwatch – Ruddwatch – Not Healthy!

Scratches are beginning to appear on Kevin Rudd’s electoral record.  A major plank of his Kevin 07 campaign was an Emissions Trading Scheme to save the planet.  It seems the planet will now have to wait and the much vaunted ‘Fuelwatch’ and ‘Grocerywatch’ have been consigned to the dustbin of political history. Federal Redistribution: Impact on Macarthur

Macarthur is set to become the nation’s bellwether seat for the next couple of elections as a result of the boundary changes.  The existing margin of 0.7 per cent to the Liberal Party has moved to 0.1 percent to Labor with the inclusion of Blairmont and Blair Athol at the expense of towns south of Razorback. Retirement Age

Some researchers believe the average life span after retirement is 18 months.  If this is true then the wise advice would be to delay your retirement for as long as possible! 

Creative artists, musicians and writers are known to paint, compose and play well into their 80s because they never ‘retire’.  Obviously this does not apply to farmers, tradies and others who engage in hard manual work. (more…)
